February 10 - 18, 2024 - Love Letters A Play by A.R. Gurney -  After two sold out short runs in over the past several months, beloved local broadcast legends Nancy Nelson and Don Shelby are pairing up again in a poignant theatre collaboration to present A.R. Gurney’s Pulitzer Prize-nominated work, which ran successfully on Broadway and throughout the country. This timeless piece is directed by CDT Resident Artistic Director, Michael Brindisi.

Don and Nancy play the roles of Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner. Both born to wealth and position Andrew and Melissa are childhood friends whose lifelong correspondence begins with birthday party thank-you notes and summer camp postcards and continues for some 50 years.

A unique and imaginative theatre piece which, in the words of the author, “needs no theatre, no lengthy rehearsal, no special set, no memorization of lines, and no commitment from its two actors beyond the night of performance.” The piece is comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences. As the actors read the letters aloud, what is created is an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling pair of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down.

Guests are invited to stay after the show for a short Q & A with Don and Nancy. Get your tickets today!  Click Here for Tickets or call 952-934-1525.

Bucking the trend of the apathetic comedian, his genuine passion for his craft draws audience members into the unique world of Mike Brody: An affable, clever guy whose life is often derailed by his own neurotic, obsessive-compulsive and clumsy tendencies.

Brody has spent the last 20+ years touring the U.S. and internationally, and has also been featured on the nationally syndicated radio program “The Bob & Tom Show” as well as the “The Dan Patrick Show” podcast. He’s recorded two comedy albums on Rooftop Comedy, with tracks regularly featured on SirusXM Satellite Radio. Opening March 1, 2024 - BEAUTIFUL THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL - Chanhassen Dinner Theatres (CDT) is pleased to bring its audiences the beloved Broadway hit, BEAUTIFUL THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL, set to open on the Main Stage on March 1 with official opening night festivities on Friday, March 8, 2024.  Tickets

For almost seven years, BEAUTIFUL, the Tony and Grammy Award-winning Carole King musical, thrilled Broadway with its inspiring true story of one woman's remarkable journey from teenage songwriter to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legend. Carole King started writing hits for many national acts from The Shirelles to The Righteous Brothers – The Monkees to The Drifters and Neil Sedaka to Little Eva. In the early years, she fell in love and was partnered with lyricist husband, Gerry Goffin. Eventually she found her own life-changing, chart-busting success with Tapestry in 1971. King gave us the soundtrack to our lives with that acclaimed breakthrough album, which has been certified 13x Platinum. BEAUTIFUL THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL takes you back to where it all began - and on the ride of a lifetime.
