Now Playing - Noises Off by Michael Frayn, directed by Meredith McDonough - An ingenious backstage farce.  In this rip-roaring classic, the audience is treated to a hilarious behind-the-scenes peek at an acting troupe rehearsing and performing the farce Nothing On. Despite nerves, dropped lines and technical difficulties, they make it through rehearsal and open the show. As time goes by, things deteriorate until pandemonium ensues and axe-wielding co-stars, drunken cast members and misplaced sardines take center stage during a disaster of a performance that threatens to jinx the old saying, “The show must go on.”  Running October 27th through December 16, 2018.  Click Here for Tickets or call the Box Office at 612-377-2444.

November 13 thru December 29, 2018 - A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, adapted by Crispin Whittell, directed by Lauren Keeting.   A Twin Cities holiday tradition.  A miserly and miserable man, Ebenezer Scrooge greets each Christmas with a “Bah, humbug!” until he is visited one Christmas Eve by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Future. Through a restless night, the spirits show him happy memories from his past, cruel realities from the present and a grim future should he continue his cantankerous ways. Charles Dickens’ timeless tale continues to be a perennial favorite and holiday tradition that invites audiences of all ages to celebrate the merriment of the season with their family and loved ones.  Running November 13th through December 29, 2018.  Click Here for Tickets or call the Box Office at 612-377-2444.

Now Playing – WINNIE THE POOH - Old Log Theatre presents an Excelsior Entertainment production of a musical version of WINNIE THE POOH.  Winnie-the-Pooh is Christopher Robin's fat little "bear of very little brain" who would like to drift peacefully through life, humming tunes and stopping frequently to eat "a little something." However, he finds himself involved in all sorts of frantic adventures, assisted by such friends as the dismal Eeyore, Piglet and Rabbit, with his countless relations. Pooh's intentions are always the best, but his passion for honey and condensed milk keeps getting him into trouble. When friend Piglet gets roped into Kanga's household and Kanga starts bathing him (with soap!) and forcing down spoonfuls of Strengthening Medicine, Pooh wants to fly to the rescue, but he's had so many snacks he gets stuck in the door. A.A. Milne's wit and special understanding of young people make this one of the most successful plays available. Running now through December 29th.  Click Here or call the Box Office Phone Sales: (952) 474-5951 for tickets.

Now Playing - I'm Listening this Christmas - A musical comedy by Patti J. Hynes McCarthy.  Running the small radio station in his home town of Walnut Lake, Minnesota, is a far cry from Jon Michael's dreams of becoming a big time disc jockey in a top Chicago market, especially managing a group of mismatched, and, shall we say, 'unique' radio announcers.  That, along with taking care of a sick parent, is proving too much for him.  Just as he is about to shut down KMAS, make this Christmas his most depressing ever, a young radio enthusiast appears on the scene, infusing a dose of optimism and Christmas cheer into everyone at the station, and the town!  Laughs, a few tears, some great Christmas music, and a deeper message of what 'success' really means, will delight people of all ages in this musical comedy.  Playing Now playing thru December 31st at Majestic Oaks Golf Club Seasons Dinner Theatre.  Order tickets online at www.majesticoaksgolfclub.com or call 763-755-2140.

Now Playing - LEND ME A TENOR and the GOLDEN AGE OF HOLLYWOOD - Come experience the Golden Age of Hollywood at the Old Log Theatre!  Set in 1934, the wacky story and hilarious shenanigans in Lend Me a Tenor provide an escape into laugh out loud comedy land.  The mistaken identities, one-liners, and slapstick transport you directly into the films of Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, and the Marx Brothers.  Passionate yearnings and sentimentality will harken back to romantic comedies like It Happened One Night and Bringing Up Baby.  We’ll make you feel as though you’re at an Art Deco movie house from the 1930s.  Black and white will become Technicolor right before your eyes!  Come early and catch glimpses of some of your favorite comedies from Hollywood’s greatest era.  Nostalgia and reminiscing will ensue at the Old Log’s hybrid theatrical and cinematic production of Lend Me a Tenor.  Running now through February 16, 2019.  Click Here or call the Box Office Phone Sales: (952) 474-5951 for tickets.

Now Playing – Chanhassen Dinner Theatre Presents: Holiday Inn - the new Irving Berlin musical, tells the story of Jim, who leaves the bright lights of show business behind to settle down on his farmhouse in Connecticut. He quickly discovers life isn't the same without a bit of song and dance. Jim's luck takes a spectacular turn when he meets Linda, a spirited schoolteacher with talent to spare. Together they turn the farmhouse into a fabulous inn with dazzling performances to celebrate each holiday from Thanksgiving to the Fourth of July. But when Jim's best friend Ted tries to lure Linda away to be his new dance partner in Hollywood, will Jim be able to salvage his latest chance at love?  Running October 5th thru February 23, 2019 at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre.  Click Here for Tickets or call the Box Office at 952-934-1525.

December 11, 2018 DAVINA AND THE VAGABONDS HOLIDAY SHOW - Since exploding onto the scene in 2005, Davina and the Vagabonds have grown from a down-and-dirty blues band into one of the most exciting acoustic ensembles on the international stage. This high-energy quintet has established itself with a stellar live show, a professional look, and good old-fashioned hard work.  In recent years they have performed in 45 states, 2 Canadian provinces and 12 European countries.  With influences ranging from Fats Domino and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band to Aretha Franklin and Tom Waits, the band draws from the last 100 years of American music, and is converting audiences one show at a time. So much more than just a blues act, DATV’s shows are filled with New Orleans charm, Memphis soul swagger, dark theatrical moments that evoke Kurt Weill, and tender gospel passages. Davina’s voice and stage presence defy category in a different way. Davina has been compared to Etta James, Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, Billie Holiday and Betty Boop, but comparisons don’t suffice. Student Theatre Camp Experience Rises To Top
Chanhassen Dinner Theatres’ renowned summer theatre camp program, CHAN DT MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP, returns this summer with exciting new themes for youths and teens.  Since 1994, over 11,000 kids and teens have learned about the magic of musical theatre as only Chanhassen can do it. This educational camp program is also terrific summertime fun. Kids and teens, ages eight to eighteen, are given opportunities to explore a wide spectrum of musical theatre components including voice, movement, costumes, scenery, stage combat, improv and more -- all taught by professional members of the Chanhassen acting company, designers and choreographers making the CDT student theatre experience rise above other offered theatre camp programs.  Camp sessions are available throughout the summer months for both half and full day, week-long sessions. This makes the perfect gift for grandchildren who love musical theatre or are looking to make new friends and boost confidence.
