Bush, and Bill Clinton have discussed while gathered prior to the service. September 21, 2019 – Lantern Lighting Ceremony – Lakewood Cemetery invites the public to join in a beautiful ceremony to honor and remember those they have lost in a twilight Lantern Lighting Celebration. Participants will gather early to decorate and personalize their paper lanterns, then light and release them onto Lakewood’s scenic Jo Pond at dusk.  Growing in popularity each year since 2015, the Lantern Lighting Celebration draws hundreds of people to the cemetery, culminating in a breathtaking moment when all the glowing lanterns are floating across the lake. This year the celebration will take place from 4:30 - 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21.  With a $5 advance registration fee ($10 that night), participants will receive a paper lantern to decorate to honor their loved ones. Lakewood will provide art supplies, lanterns and candles, and participants are encouraged to bring copies of photos and mementoes to personalize their lanterns. The event is free to anyone wishing only to observe.  Free parking is available along roads inside the cemetery. September 28, 2019 – HopeFest - Alexandra House hosts its annual HopeFest event in the fall, as our lead into October, which is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The core principles of the event are to raise awareness about domestic and sexual violence, remember those we have lost, and honor the many survivors. The event includes a brief program, a 2-mile walk, Kidz Dash and Kidz Zone with inflatables and games, BBQ from The Bones Brothers, and a vendor/exhibitor resource fair. September 28, 2019 - St. David's Center Fall Festival presented by HealthPartners - Enjoy family, fall and fresh air during the 13th annual Get Out and Grow Fall Festival presented by HealthPartners at St. David’s Center Saturday, Sept. 28. From 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m.. This fun-filled day begins with an inclusive Walk N’ Roll that is open to all ages and abilities. Continue the morning at the free festival with wall climbing, creature features, fun and sensory-friendly activities as well as healthy snacking prepared by a local food truck amidst St. David’s Center’s DNR-certified wetlands and school forest. October 3, 2019 - 4th Annual Reimagine Aging Conference - Join us for the 4th Annual Reimagine Aging Conference! Members of the community are coming together for the latest information about how older adults can live a high-quality life, independently through the use of accessible technology.  This year will feature a keynote panel discussion on transportation and technology with panelists from Minnesota’s Department of Transportation, Department of Human Services, and Mobility4All, as well as 3 breakout sessions to choose from.  This conference is for healthcare professionals, senior living specialists, government staff & officials, caregivers and older adults themselves. October 5, 2019 – Harvest Howl - Join us for this unique annual event featuring autumn family fun among the wolves, raptors, bears, cougars and other resident wild animals. Enjoy educational demonstrations, shop with local artisans and vendors selling their wares, check out some kid's games, pumpkin painting contests and more! All event proceeds benefit the Wildlife Science Center. October 7, 2019 – JazzMN Orchestra with Gershwin, Basie & More! - With guest vocalist, Debbie Duncan! New Artistic Director, JC Sanford, will share some old and new takes on these legendary artists in his debut performance leading the JazzMN Orchestra!  George Gershwin was one of the most prolific composers of American popular music, and his songs continue to be performed and reinterpreted in modern times. October 16 – 20, 2019 - DanceCo, and the Roe Family Singers present, Expectation Station - DanceCo, in collaboration with the Roe Family Singers and Engineer Paul of the "Choo Choo Bob’s Train Show", will present Expectation Station at SteppingStone Theatre, October 16-20 (MEA week). This interactive one-hour show combines dance and musical theater with a little history and a lot of fun to create a truly original performance for the entire family.  Tickets include a free pre-show workshop (25 minutes before curtain), to teach audience members about dance and movement elements of the production. October 18, 2019 – February 15, 2020 - A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder – a knock-'em-dead, uproarious hit and the most-nominated show of the 2014 Broadway season.  With 10 Tony nominations and 4 wins, including Best Musical, Book, Direction and Costumes, this Tony-Award Winning Musical makes its Minnesota Premiere at the Old Log.  Set in London in 1907, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder centers on Monty Navarro, a penniless clerk who is informed after the death of his mother that he is ninth in line to inherit the earldom of Highhurst, controlled by the wealthy D’Ysquith banking family. After the imperious ruling Lord dismisses Monty’s claim of being a relative, the eight D’Ysquiths ahead of young Mr. Navarro begin dying in natural and unnatural ways. FREE YOGA CLASSES - Union Depot in downtown St. Paul has added another free yoga opportunity to its weekly schedule of classes open to the public.  The new class, Yoga Sculpt done with no weights, will be held weekly on Mondays beginning April 4 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and will be taught by skilled instructors from Studio925 by CorePower Yoga & Spa in Woodbury.  No advance registration is required.  Yoga Sculpt with no weights is a total body workout designed to tone and sculpt every major muscle group.  This class will increase the heart rate with an easy-to-follow program and complements regular yoga practice by increasing overall strength.  Union Depot also offers free yoga classes on Tuesday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00-10:00 a.m.  The Tuesday classes are at Intermediate level and the Saturday classes are at a variety of skill levels, with the first Saturday of the month focused on Beginner level. Student Theatre Camp Experience Rises To Top
Chanhassen Dinner Theatres’ renowned summer theatre camp program, CHAN DT MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP, returns this summer with exciting new themes for youths and teens.  Since 1994, over 11,000 kids and teens have learned about the magic of musical theatre as only Chanhassen can do it.
