Not far from the castle, in a small village, Belle lives with her father Maurice, an inventor. Belle is seen as odd by all but Gaston, a handsome yet highly egotistical man, who wants to marry her. Belle’s father gets lost in the woods and stumbles upon the Beast’s castle where he is welcomed by the walking, talking clock and candlestick. However, when the Beast discovers him, he is taken captive. When Belle finds out, she rushes to his aid and trades her freedom for her father’s. November 4 & 5, 2016 – Bridge Over Troubled Water; An Album Tribute - Don’t miss this first-time tribute to the acclaimed album of Simon and Garfunkel, Bridge Over Troubled Water, featuring Jeff Engholm. Jeff’s tributes seen previously at Chanhassen include those to Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and Paul McCartney and Wings. Jeff is known and loved by fans here for his role in the popular tribute to Fleetwood Mac in Pamela McNeill’s Rumours & Dreams. The song, “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” generates a unique set of feelings in people. The lyrics are so visual that taking the album down and placing it on the record player (the only real way to listen to BOTW) is like paging through a childhood photo album long lost. The record is simultaneously somber and joyous, deep and light. It’s only now, looking back across some 35 years that we get a sense of the placeholder in time that was BOTW. Released as it was in 1970, BOTW truly served as a marker between the decades, a nod to the ideals and folksy simplicity of the sixties mixed with the global complexities and inward thinking that was to dominate the decade to come. BOTW was a balm in a confusing time and it remains so today; and it boogies. We hope you enjoy your evening with “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” an album tribute. Hear songs including: “El Condor Pasa,” “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard,” “Sky,” “The Boxer,” “At the Zoo,” “Kodachrome,” “Cecilia” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”  Contact the Box Office: 952.934.1525 or visit www.chanhassendt.com for tickets.

Student Theatre Camp Experience Rises To Top
Chanhassen Dinner Theatres’ renowned summer theatre camp program, CHAN DT MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP, returns this summer with exciting new themes for youths and teens.  Since 1994, over 11,000 kids and teens have learned about the magic of musical theatre as only Chanhassen can do it. This educational camp program is also terrific summertime fun. Kids and teens, ages eight to eighteen, are given opportunities to explore a wide spectrum of musical theatre components including voice, movement, costumes, scenery, stage combat, improv and more -- all taught by professional members of the Chanhassen acting company, designers and choreographers making the CDT student theatre experience rise above other offered theatre camp programs.  Camp sessions are available throughout the summer months for both half and full day, week-long sessions. This makes the perfect gift for grandchildren who love musical theatre or are looking to make new friends and boost confidence. To register or receive more info, call the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres’ box office at 952-934-1525 or go online to www.chanhassendt.com to watch a video and learn more.
